Please read the entire newsletter for some very important information about the upcoming school year.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope this newsletter finds you excited and ready for another fantastic school year at The Delta Academy! As we embark on this journey together, we'd like to take a moment to share important information and updates to ensure a smooth transition back to school.  Here are some key highlights for the upcoming academic year.

BARBERS & BACKPACKS

Delta students can join us for a fun-filled day of activities highlighted by free haircuts and free school supplies.  This will take place on Monday, July 31st, from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM.  Students can learn about school clubs, play games, and get to know members of the Delta family.  School uniforms will also be available to purchase.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Mark your calendars! The first day of school for all students is August 7th.  The campus opens at 7:30 AM for breakfast.  School starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:08 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Students are dismissed at 12:30 PM on Wednesdays.  All students must be picked up within 15 minutes of dismissal.  Students are dismissed outside of the building.  We do not have Safe Key.  Online students must be picked up by 6:30 PM if attending a lab session.

TARDIES

Students will be marked tardy at 8:01 AM. If students are more than 15 minutes late, they will be marked absent from that period.

EARLY DISMISSAL

Students will not be released from school after 2:30 PM.  All students will be dismissed at 3:08 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Students will be dismissed at 12:30 PM on Wednesday.

UNIFORM POLICY

Our dress code policy will be strictly enforced.  If students are out of dress code, they will be sent home for the day.  Students must wear our school uniform shirt with the Delta logo.  Students may wear any type of pants or jeans that are free of holes, tears, and rips (NO PAJAMA BOTTOMS OR HOUSE SLIPPERS ARE PERMITTED ON CAMPUS).  Delta hoodies are available as coats or other hoodies are not allowed to cover the school uniform shirt.  Please see below to determine what color of shirt your students needs:

  • 6th - 8th Grade Day School - Light Blue Shirt

  • 9th - 11th Grade Day School - Royal Blue Shirt

  • 12th Grade Day School - Black Shirt

  • Online Student (All Grades) - White Shirt

CLUBS & EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

We strongly encourage students to participate in our diverse clubs and extracurricular activities.  It’s a great way to make friends, explore interests, and develop leadership skills.  Clubs meet from 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (days vary depending on the club). A signed parent permission slip and good behavior are required for participation.  Stay tuned for announcements regarding club sign-ups!

TUTORING

Students who want extra help or are struggling in an academic area, may participate in FREE before & after school tutoring.  Morning tutoring is from 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM.  Afternoon tutoring is from 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM.  Tutoring days are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.  A parent signed permission slip is required.

STEP-UP PROGRAM

Students, take advantage of this amazing opportunity! High school students enrolled at The Delta Academy can apply to take two free classes a semester at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) for FREE! This opportunity allows students to earn high school and college credit simultaneously.  Students can explore college educational paths and/or career and vocational opportunities while attending high school.

COMMUNICATION

Regular communication between school and home is vital for your child’s success.  Stay connected with us through our school website and app, emails, and social media channels to receive updates, announcements, and important information. 

PARENT WORKSHOPS

The Delta Academy Parent Workshops are a fun and engaging way to collaborate with other parents.  We provide translation services, free-childcare, and raffles!

Throughout the year, we have several events, parent-teacher conferences, and school holidays. Please refer to our school calendar on the website for the complete list of important dates. This will help you plan and stay informed about upcoming activities.
