Welcome Back, The Delta Academy Students and Families!

As summer comes to an end, we are excited to welcome you back for another incredible academic year at The Delta Academy. Below, you’ll find important information and updates to help you prepare for a successful school year.

1. The Delta Academy’s new school hours are 8:00 until 3:14

2. Important Dates

●     Barbers and Backpacks: August 5th  11:00 AM  -3:00 PM

●     Day School Orientation : August 6th 9:00 AM

●     Online Orientation: August 7th 9:00 Required for all new online students

●     First Day of School: August 12th  Arrive by 7:55 Class starts at 8:00

●     Meet the Teachers Night: August 29th 3:30

●     School Pictures: September 26th Middle School  and 27th High School  Day School Students 1:00 Online Students 3:30 to 5:00

School shirts will be available for purchase at the Barbers and Backpacks event, and both orientations!

Please refer to the school calendar on our website for a complete list of important dates and events throughout the year.

3. School Supplies

Students that attend the Barbers and Backpacks event will receive free school supplies. The Delta Academy is a Project 150 school. Students have access to the Project 150 room throughout the year for supplies.

4. Uniform Policy

Our dress code policy ensures a focused learning environment. Students must wear  their designated color school uniform shirt. Pants must be free of holes, frays, and tears. Pajama pants, and house slippers are not allowed. Students are required to adhere to the uniform guidelines outlined in the student handbook. Uniforms can be purchased at The Delta  Academy  or at Campus Club Uniforms,

5. Cell Phone Policy

To maintain an optimal learning environment, we have updated our cell phone policy:

●     During Class: Cell phones, air pods must be turned off and stored in  backpacks, or pockets. Use of cell phones during instructional time is prohibited unless specifically permitted by the teacher for educational purposes.

●     Between Classes and Lunch Period: Students may use their cell phones, and air pods during passing periods and lunch breaks. However, use must be respectful and non-disruptive.

●     Consequences for Violations: Violations of the cell phone policy will result in confiscation of the device and disciplinary action. Confiscated phones can be retrieved from the Principal’s office at the end of the school day.

Repeat infractions will result in the student turning their phone in at the beginning of the day and

6. Extracurricular Activities and Clubs

We encourage students to get involved in the wide variety of clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities offered at  The Delta Academy. Participation in these activities is a great way to develop new skills, make friends, and enhance the overall  school experience. Information about sign-ups and tryouts will be available on our website and announced during the first week of school.

7. Student Success

Here at The Delta Academy, we want to see all students be successful. This requires us to work as a team with the families when communicating and adhering to school rules and policies. All school rules and policies were created by a team of stakeholders, including teachers, administration, and parents. Please be aware they are in place for a reason.

If you have not created a parent portal in Infinite Campus, the team at The Delta Academy suggests you do so. All students’ grades, attendance, and report cards are available through Infinite Campus and physical copies are no longer sent. Creating an Infinite Campus parent portal will help you be aware of your student’s current grades and teachers. If you have questions, please reach out to the teacher immediately and do not wait until the end of the semester.

8. Communication

Stay connected with us! Regular updates, announcements, and important information will be shared via our school website, emails, text messages  and social media platforms. Please ensure your contact information is up to date to receive all communications.

9. Resources and Support

We are committed to supporting every student’s academic and personal growth. If your student needs additional support, please reach out to our social workers  for information on tutoring, mental health services, and other available resources.

¡Bienvenidos de nuevo, estudiantes y familias de The Delta Academy!

A medida que el verano llega a su fin, estamos emocionados de darles la bienvenida para otro increíble año académico en The Delta Academy. A continuación, encontrarán información y actualizaciones importantes para ayudarles a prepararse para un exitoso año escolar.

1.     Nuevos horarios escolares de The Delta Academy: de 8:00 a 3:14.

3.     Útiles escolares: Los estudiantes que asistan al evento Barberos y mochilas recibirán útiles escolares gratuitos. The Delta Academy es una escuela del Proyecto 150. Los estudiantes tienen acceso a la sala del Proyecto 150 durante todo el año para obtener suministros.

4.     Política de uniformes: Nuestra política de vestimenta asegura un ambiente de aprendizaje enfocado. Los estudiantes deben usar la camiseta de uniforme escolar designada por color. 5.     Política de teléfonos celulares: Para mantener un entorno de aprendizaje óptimo, hemos actualizado nuestra política de teléfonos celulares:

○     Durante las clases: Los teléfonos celulares y auriculares deben estar apagados y guardados en las mochilas o en los bolsillos. El uso de teléfonos celulares durante el tiempo de instrucción está prohibido, a menos que el maestro lo permita específicamente con fines educativos.

○     Entre clases y durante el almuerzo: Los estudiantes pueden usar sus teléfonos celulares y auriculares durante los períodos de transición y los descansos para el almuerzo. Sin embargo, el uso debe ser respetuoso y no disruptivo.

○     Consecuencias por infracciones: Las violaciones a la política de teléfonos celulares resultarán en la confiscación del dispositivo y acciones disciplinarias. Los teléfonos confiscados pueden ser recuperados en la oficina del Director al final del día escolar. Las infracciones repetidas resultarán en que el estudiante entregue su teléfono al comienzo del día.

6.     Actividades extracurriculares y clubes: Animamos a los estudiantes a participar en la amplia variedad de clubes, deportes y actividades extracurriculares que se ofrecen en The Delta Academy. La participación en estas actividades es una excelente manera de desarrollar nuevas habilidades, hacer amigos y mejorar la experiencia escolar general.
