Delta Academy Values

January's value is TEAMWORK

Every Month we'll highlight a Delta Academy core value.

Teamwork is when people join forces to achieve a common goal. Teamwork is about listening, supporting, and combining everyone's strengths to accomplish something greater together, where each member plays a crucial role in the process. Good teamwork involves kindness, encouragement, and understanding, making the journey more enjoyable and the outcomes more successful.

Supporting Students: Insights from Our Social Workers

Embracing a New Year of Growth & Support!

As we step into the new year, Delta Academy's Social Work team is excited to share some tips for a fulfilling and successful year ahead. Alongside setting personal and academic goals, we believe that focusing in well-being and resilience is key to navigating the journey ahead. Here are some helpful tips for 2024:

  1. Reflect and Set Intentions: Take some time to reflect on the past year and identify areas of personal growth. Set intentions for the new year by outlining specific, realistic goals that align with your values and aspirations.

  2. Prioritize Self-Care: Make self-care a non-negotiable part of your routine. Whether it's practicing mindfulness, engaging in hobbies, or simply taking breaks to recharge, prioritize activities that nourish your mental and emotional well-being.

  3. Build a Support System: Surround yourself with positive influences and build a support network. Connect with friends, family, and school resources. Social connections play a crucial role in fostering resilience and overcoming challenges.

  4. Break Goals into Manageable Steps: When setting academic or personal goals, break them down into smaller, achievable steps. This not only makes the journey more manageable but also provides a sense of accomplishment along the way.

  5. Stay Open to Learning: Embrace a growth mindset by staying open to new experiences and learning opportunities. Understand that challenges are a natural part of the learning process and can lead to valuable insights and personal development.

  6. Practice Gratitude: Cultivate a habit of gratitude. Regularly reflect on and appreciate the positive aspects of your life. This can contribute to a positive mindset and help you navigate challenges with resilience.

  7. Time Management: Develop effective time management skills to balance academic responsibilities, extracurricular activities, and personal time. Prioritize tasks, create schedules, and set realistic deadlines to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

  8. Seek Guidance when Needed: Don't hesitate to reach out for support from teachers, counselors, or our social work team. We are here to assist you in overcoming challenges, providing guidance, and promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.

The Social Work team is here to support not only students but families as well. Please feel free to reach out for any questions or concerns, we're always happy to help!
