October is RESPECT
Respect includes a positive feeling towards another person or the person's skills, opinions or other characteristics and the honoring of a person's beliefs, ideas or culture. Respect requires seeing the individual as a person first.
Due to the continuing growth of Delta Academy and the importance of student growth in education, middle school students are required to attend one day per week online in the computer lab between 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday.
This will be new for all the middle school online students, but Delta Academy believes this will improve student achievement.
Please email Middle School Principal Austin Congleton with any questions about this requirement, adjusting your assigned day, or notify him about missed lab hours. austin.congleton@deltaacademylv.com.
EARN POINTS FOR EXTRA CREDIT: At the end of the quarter, student can earn extra credit that they can redeem for any ONE subject.
5 points earned= 1% Extra Credit
10 points earned= 2% extra credit
15 points earned= 3% extra credit (max)
How do you earn points?
Check out a book from Mr. Stevens and return it = 1 point
Be "Caught Reading" by a staff member (blue ticket) = 1 point
Any student caught reading for pleasure (novel, magazine, comic, etc.) will receive a blue ticket.
Come join us every Monday in room 130 for Teen Talks!
Want a safe and calming place to do different activities with other students? A place where you're free to speak with other teenagers on topics around being an adolescent, the struggles, the highlights, the frustrations, the positives? It's a judge-free zone with the help and support of Ms. Bermudez and Ms. Dominguez! Stop by our office in Room 134 or Room 135 to pick up a permission slip or if you have any questions.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month! To raise awareness we will be celebrating "Respect Week" starting October 2nd to October 6th.
At Delta Academy, we pride ourselves in providing a learning environment where students feel safe, respected, and comfortable. We make efforts to prevent bullying on campus, which is a group effort. If you or someone you know is being bullied, say something so we can intervene as soon as possible. EVERYONE deserves to come to school feeling safe, comfortable, and included!

September 15 to October 15
Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
