Hello Delta Academy Parents,
Time flies! Quarter 1 ends on October 11th. Please remember that The Delta Academy does not send out paper report cards, so be sure to check Infinite Campus to view your student's quarter grades.
We also want to remind you that tutoring is available for all subjects Monday through Friday at 7:00 AM. It's a great resource to help your student succeed!
If your child is a senior or an early graduate, we invite you to join us for a FAFSA information session on October 19th at 5:30 PM in The Delta Academy multipurpose room. This is an important opportunity to learn more about financial aid options for college.
Additionally, Heavenly Smiles Mobile Dental will be on campus on October 17th for dental screenings and cleanings for middle school students and high school seniors. You will receive an email with a link to sign your student up.
If your student missed picture day, don’t worry! Make-up pictures will be held on October 28th from 1:00 PM to 4:45 PM.
Finally, mark your calendars for our Parent Workshop, which will be a Virtual Community Resource Fair on October 22nd and 24th from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. We encourage you to join this informative session.
We are excited to share that Project 150 will be providing holiday meals for high school families in need of assistance. If your family could benefit from this support, please keep an eye out for a Google sign-up link that will be sent soon.
Additionally, for our online middle school students, we will be holding SBAC prep fall sessions to help prepare for the assessments. These sessions are a great way to ensure your student is ready for the SBAC exams.

Supporting Students: Insights from Our
School Psychologist
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common, and often misunderstood, neurodevelopmental disorders of children. It is usually first diagnosed during childhood and can lasts into adulthood.
Children with ADHD may have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors, or becoming overly active. Therefore, it is very important to help children with ADHD meet their full potential and learning needs.
Here are some signs and symptoms of ADHD:
Daydreaming a lot
Forgetting or losing things
Squirming or fidgeting
Becoming easily distracted
Making careless mistakes or taking unnecessary risks
Expressing difficulty waiting or taking turns
If you think your child may have ADHD, consult with your child's doctor or nurse. It is very important to seek medical advice and/or services to help rule out other problems that are often associated with ADHD. In addition, the CDC sponsors the National Resource Center for children and adults with this disorder. Their website is http://www.help4adhd.org/NRC.aspx
